As the Christmas season approaches, we at Prairie Insurance wish to thank you all for the wonderful support and kindness you have shown to us this year. With two locations in North West Saskatchewan, we are doing our best to bring value and peace of mind to the people we serve.
A couple of thoughts come to mind as everyone gears up for the holiday season. One being safety as people travel, and the other being home protection while you may be away. As humorous as the movie is, Home Alone really sets the stage for what goes wrong during the holiday season when some individuals have less than savory motives.
Travel Safety
There are always more people travelling during the holidays, and the highways are busier. Take extra time at intersections, look before you leap, and exercise proper driving habits that get dictated to us by road conditions. As the saying goes, arriving late is better than never arriving at all. Drive carefully, make sure your insurance is up to date, and plan your route and travel times to ensure safety. Call those at your destination at the time of departure so that they know you are on your way, and know when to expect you. Should you have car trouble outside of cell reception, this might prompt those waiting for you to come looking if you fail to arrive on time.
Home Protection
There are two types of protection that you need to be aware of. First, you need to ensure it is secure from theft while you are away. Do not publicize your time away as this might be useful information to those who would take advantage. Secondly, make sure you have someone lined up to check on the premises daily if you plan to be away for multiple days at a time. Heating systems are crucial to ensuring no damage is caused to your home by freezing, so make sure someone is checking this for you. Insurance companies specify that this must be done during the heating season.
We hope that you have a blessed holiday season filled with laughter, friends, family and memories made. From all of us at Prairie, have a Merry Chtistmas!
